About Us

Bear's was started in 1957 by A. Don and Louise Bear in the village of Sugarcreek, Pennsylvania and has continued to grow and expand over the past 50 years.  Bear's has been under the ownership and guidance of Michael and Karla Moss since 1990 and undergone a multitude of changes since then.  Under the Moss' leadership, Bear's has strengthened its position by adding a Custom Comfort Center (choose among hundreds of fabrics to customize your furniture!) at the Franklin store and expanding to a second location in Cranberry, Pennsylvania - Bear's Mattress Den - specializing in mattresses and related sleep products.

Bear's feels strongly about balancing the needs of our customers with the relationship of our suppliers.  First priority will always be to provide a quality product to our customers.  But we also consider other factors.  For example, many of our products are "Made in America" and we feel it's important to support those manufacturers.  Many of our customers agree.

Bear's offers over 40 different name brand mattress sets on display in a variety of sizes, types, and qualities.  We specialize in adjustable beds featuring five different adjustable base styles and over two dozen different mattress choices.  That's over 100 different combinations to choose!  We carry bunk beds, day beds, futons, metal and wooden beds, headboards, all types of bed frames and rails, sheets, pillows, and much, much more!

Delivery Policies

Our 5-Star Delivery Service begins with the best trained delivery team.  Our delivery team has the knowledge and experience to get your delivery done right the first time.  You'll recognize them in their Bear's uniform driving one of the Bear's delivery or service vehicles.

Our pre-delivery preparation assures that each item has been inspected and loaded properly for safe transporting to your home.  Once we arrive, our delivery team will set up your furniture exactly where you want it.

Our delivery team will be happy to answer any questions you mayve have concerning the use or care of the items you have purchased.  They have been trained and are familiar with all the products Bear's carries.

Our 5-Star Delivery Service is available to customers in our normal delivery area (within a 30-mile radius of Bear's).  Delivery and set-up is also available to customers outside our normal delivery area.  Please check with us for quotes regarding delivery and set-up charges.

Bear's Delivers Convenience

The evening prior or the morning of your scheduled delivery day, we'll call and give you an estimated delivery time within a two-hour window.  If needed, on the day of delivery, our delivery team can "call ahead" from the prior delivery to yours to give you an approximate arrival time.

EXPRESS FREE Mattress Delivery

Bear's provides EXPRESS FREE Mattress Delivery on mattress sets of $499 or more to our normal delivery area (within a 30-mile radius of Bear's).  EXPRESS FREE Mattress Delivery includes set-up of your new mattress set and FREE removal of your old mattress set.

Payment Options

Credit & Debit Cards Accepted

Cash and Checks

We accept cash & check payments in the stores.  We also accept checks for COD deliveries (sorry, no cash CODs!).

Lay-A-Ways

We welcome your Lay-A-Way purchases.  All Lay-A-Way purchases require 25% down, with payments of 25% every 30 days.  All purchases should be paid in full and scheduled for delivery within 90 days from the date of purchase.  We cannot accept Lay-A-Ways on Clearance items.

Flexible Financing

We offer financing credit plans which are subject to credit approval by the finance company and are subject to change without notice.  We are happy to take the application information over the phone, or you may stop by in person to fill out the credit application.  We keep all information confidential and secure.  We do not supply any information to outside companies, other than the credit company to which you desire to apply.
